the swedish flicka shop…
is actually more than rag rugs. we are truly a variety shop of up-cycled and re-used projects. we have enjoyed creating RAG RUGS from a plethora of used clothing and fabrics.
then, we use the remaining pieces of cloth scraps for our cosy PATCHWORK SCARVES.
and just when we thought there were no more uses for all the scraps...we made woven POTHOLDERS, MUG RUGS, and tiny fabric BROOCHES. WOOHOO!

weave one for every room.
we definitely thought this was more than enough ideas to stock our shop with....but then we realised that there might be other folks that might like to get started weaving right along with us. so we have added locally hand-made wooden potholder LOOMS and TUTORIALS so you to create your very own potholders, because weaving potholders is how it all began for us here at The Swedish Flicka.

Rag Rug weaving takes quite a bit of time, but it gives you such a wonderful sense of accomplishment. the feeling of stepping on the finished hand-woven product is just so satisfying! we cannot seem have enough of these rugs in our own home. so whether it is a big weave or a small one...it's all the 'voice of tradition' being passed down to the next generation.
